Canadian Country Artist Sacha to Release New EP The Best Thing July 24

Toronto, ON – Oshawa-based country artist Sacha is set to return July 24 with the release of her new EP The Best Thing, via all streaming services. The Best Thing takes listeners on a musical journey through life’s unpredictable twists and turns. From wanting to escape the difficulties of love, to raising a glass to the good old times, there’s something everyone can relate to with this EP.

Produced by CCMA Producer of the Year Nominee Dan Swinimer (Jojo Mason, David James, Madeline Merlo) and including writing credits from Kelly Prescott, Mackenzie Porter and TenilleTownes, the EP dives deep into Sacha’s feelings creating an undeniably catchy collection of songs allowing her eclectic vocals to shine in singles such as “Standards, “Runaway” and “Best Thing That Never Happened”.

“My EP has been two and a half years in the making and what seemed like a lifetime to put all the pieces together has finally taken form and come to fruition. If I could describe how I feel about this project, I would have to say that it is an amalgamation of excitement, wonderment, and relief,” said Sacha. “It took so long, but it came so fast and I’m a little stunned, in a good way. I couldn’t be happier with the creative team I have in place concerning each single from top Canadian hit songwriters to the producer.”

Sacha was born in Montreal and then moved to the rolling, rural hills of Ontario, in the village of Warkworth. The songwriter and her identical twin sister were raised on country music and country living, surrounded by a family of musicians and as a result Sacha learned how to play the guitar and develop her own unique, home-grown sound from a young age.

“Being an under-represented female country artist in Canada, I can appreciate a unique opportunity to contribute as a pioneer and carve a path where there wasn’t one before and perhaps leave a trail in Canadian history for those still to come,” said Sacha. “I do believe now more than ever that timing really is everything, and I am thrilled to be pulling back the curtains for this new EP at this very time.”

Sacha was crowned the winner at the 2016 Havelock Jamboree’s “The Next Country Music Star” and has performed alongside incredible Canadian artists including Brett Kissel, Jess Moskaluke, Madeline Merlo, The Abrams and Terri Clark. She has also played on key stages including Boots and Hearts, Havelock Jamboree, Sound of Music Festival, Canadian Musician Association of Ontario Stages, and the Canadian National Exhibition. She also is involved with various organizations including Shania Kids Can, Outland Denim, Sick Kids Hospital, Back Door Mission Oshawa, the Kids Music Program, and the Children’s Aid Foundation and has presented at schools across Ontario to educate on the importance of anti-bullying.

The 6-track EP The Best Thing showcases Sacha’s epic voice and genuine nature, bringing a refreshing perspective to the Canadian country music scene.

About Sacha

Nestled in the rolling, rural hills of Ontario, in the village of Warkworth, a young black girl and her identical twin sister were being raised on country music and country living, surrounded by a family of musicians."Within this little farming community was a fertile ‘arts’ undercurrent, which fuelled the birth of a legitimate and truly home-grown country music star.

When Havelock Jamboree’s “The Next Country Music Star” crowned Sacha their 2016 winner, the stages got bigger and the lights, brighter. She caught the eye of top agent Stefanie Purificati, and was welcomed into the fold of A-list performing artists of the APA Agency. Since then, Sacha has been blazing stages like Boots And Hearts, Havelock Jamboree, Sound Of Music Festival, CMAO stages, and recently headlining at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE).

Sacha has become a positive feminine force on Canada’s biggest stages, opening for an enviable list of Canadian country music elite including Brett Kissel, Jess Moskaluke, Madeline Merlo, The Abrahams and Terri Clark.

Her leading edge sound, tempered with just the right amount of traditional 'secret-sauce' is made all the more singular by a fresh face that, at this time, remains entirely un-represented in Canadian Country music. As a black female Canadian Country Artist, Sacha is a pioneer, fearlessly working toward equal representation for young women of all creeds and colour to be deservedly embraced and included in the country music landscape of Canada.

In 2018, Sacha hit national airways and kept the “Good Times Going” with her independently charting single. Her follow up EP, produced and A&R’d  by CCMA Producer Of The Year Nominee Dan Swinimer, is teeming with songwriting acumen from top Canadian and U.S writers. Among them are CCMA 2019 Female Artist of The Year, Tenille Townes, Kelly Prescott, Madeline Merlo, Karen Kosowski, Emma Lee(Tim Hicks) and Mackenzie Porter. Sacha’s upcoming EP is an exciting, undeniable Canadian female country artist reckoning of searing, electric vocals that steadfastly honours it’s first-rate, enduring songs.

Sacha continues to establish herself as a philanthropist through concerted involvement with various organizations such as Shania Kids Can, Outland Denim, Sick Kids Hospital, Back Door Mission Oshawa, the Kids Music Program and the Childrens Aid Foundation. In 2012, with her humble roots and a powerful personal story, Sacha launched her anti-bullying and motivational school tours to empower today’s youth across Ontario through music.
